The week will span the whole spectrum of activities typically found at a folk club of folk festival.

We do our best to respond to the individual needs of our students and the exact programme will remain flexible until the start of the week. The following is for guidance only.

Mixed Instrument sessions - led by Nigel Gatherer and Neil Paterson.

One of the primary focuses of the week for participants is learning on their chosen instrument, an important part of the musical path. But for many people, music doesn't ‘come alive’ until you start playing with other people and other instruments. The aim of a mixed instrument group is getting musicians to discover the joy of playing in ensemble, and we would introduce tunes and encourage a collaborative approach to arranging and presenting them in a unique way, utilising each component instrument to its capacity. Any level and instrument would be welcome.
