Goldrush gets new Bass player

Alan Jones the talented multi instrumentalist has cemented the relationship of "new to the summer schools" bluegrass band Goldrush by becoming their latest member playing amoungst other instruments acoustic double bass.

Goldrush was formed by John Sheldon in 1989. They made their debut at the Guildtown Bluegrass Festival which John originated.

Alan, new to the summer schools in 2009, has quickly established himself as an avid enthusiast of the concept of the Living Tradition Summers Schools and has indicated his intention to return in future years.

The current Goldrush line-up is stronger than ever. Individually and collectively the present line-up have decades of performing experience ranging from the folk scene; the country music circuit; Edinburgh International Festival; Edale Bluegrass Festival and many other premier bluegrass events including the European World Of Bluegrass and the Living Tradition Summers Schools.

The band has forged a distinct and impressive identity for delivering cutting edge traditional bluegrass to delighted audiences. The new line-up consists of:

Bill Rennie, Dobro
Tom Connal, guitar, lead and harmony vocals
