'Passing It On'

Ann Story - Art, Watercolour, Batik

Tutor - An Story

A graduate of Geography at Hong Kong University, Ann then completed her PGCE in Durham and her MEd (Special Needs) at Oxford University. Her varied teaching career has spanned all ages and abilities of children, young people and adults. She was Deputy Head at a Special school in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, and is now School Development Manager at a Special school in Huntingdon, Cambs.

Over the years she has taken an active part in many artistic activities. These have included producing, with students, the ceramics for the ‘Growing Schools Garden’ at the Hampton Court Flower Show, where they won a Silver-Gilt Medal for their efforts: producing a school calendar from children’s work in batik, managing and producing whole-school mural-paintings using children’s drawings, and producing photographic brochures and leaflets for schools - not to mention editing and producing the inevitable school newspapers!

Ann regularly plays the violin and viola for fun. She also joins in school concerts and assemblies, with bands of various composition and stature, for the evident pleasure of the other participants and the audience.
